I have this one on file.
The Iraqi Fury thread got me digging through my files for the one trainer that was shipped off to Iraq to Pakistan. I'm not sure whether this is the one but this one sure has an odd conversion done to it.
If anyone has any pics of the RIAF or the RPAF i'll be most interested.

I have this one on file.
That aircraft could be the third Iraqi two seater of an order for four, one was diverted to Pakistan and the other to the Royal Navy.
Early two seaters had seperate canopies but airflow caused the rear canopy to collapse so were later modified to the style we know on RN a/c.
So my choice is IDT3/263 delivered to Iraq 21/5/48 although things are far from clear.
EDIT The first picture of Ztango's is the Fury diverted to Pakistan from the Iraq order, that too had the early canopy style. Was to be IDT2/262 with Iraq then K850 for Pakistan. Delivered 3/11/48.

thanks Mark.. the camo seems to be the same in both pics (can't tell the shades properly though)
Looks a little like a Scouse 'cut and shut' job with that canopy!
Fell into that one despite of my ethnic Scouse / Cheshire origins !
alright!! one of the pics is a fake.. the background is the same.. isn't it??
you are probably right Mike.. which in a way indicates that the one forwarded on from Iraq was probably sprayed in the Iraqi scheme. Which makes at least 2 Fury trainers in Pakistan (if the picture was indeed taken at Langley). Does anyone have info on the Furys & Typhoons that were sent to the RPAF and any pictures? Thanks

One of the fury trainers of the RPAF crashed and burned out in 1951
(date not exact in the above record)
Thanks Jagan... you've got some excellent information on your sites!!
you are welcome ztango.
IIRC a photo of the crashed and burnt out Fury was also published in the pakistani book from where i got the info from.
