I'm not 100% sure, but I suspect that picture was edited. There is absolutely no sign of blurring of the background through panning the camera following the subject and no heat haze from the exhausts.

Whew....
That's such an obvious fake. A taxiing plane with the landing gear removed. A 5-minute Photoshop job. What a shame it made it onto that website.Originally Posted by NC900

Entropy, Belgian Fougas are still the masters of LOW! The size and design of that plane really helps though. I wonder if anybody has photos of Fouga displays flown at similar height, but upside down? I've heard this so many times but never seen a pic of it.
Just saw this on a website. Note the shadow!
I stand corrected with regards to the Sukhoi pic!
Pity though the photographer used such a short shutterspeed that all motion is lost. The pic posted by UKsceneryman (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1027487/L/) is much more impressive![]()

As far as I know that never happened. Inverted, yes, but not so low. Lt. Col. Rorive does his best though to stay as low as possible after take-off :-) Unfortunatly, this is the last year we operate the Fouga. The new and final display schedule will be on my website as soon as I get clearence.Originally Posted by Skyraider3D

Thanks for the info!
The inverted-low stuff is from the 1970s or 80s, I believe. It wasn't forbidden then.

I wonder if the Jug is at Duxford- the background looks about right, and of course P47's were based there.
The P-47 isn't 78th, but the tail of the P-51 on the right could be the black or red rudder of one of the 78th Squadrons; and yes, the background does look like Duxford.
The signals square in the foreground also ends in 'X' from the DX of Duxfords codes.
Steve
That pic is from a website about Duxford - well spotted![]()

Hells Bells, that is mental ! - mind you, so was Captain Hawke.
Must have been one of the ex- 'Hanover Street' Mitchells.
Thanks for posting. A+, and three house points!
This shot was taken from an old airfield close to my heart (Did first Solo there in 1983) and not that far from my Home Town for 17 years. A Belgium Air Force major in an F-84 at an Air show at Wethersfield in 1964. The only thing that PhotoShop was used for on this shot is to reduce the size of the scan from the modelling magazine I found it in. From the blur, I'd say he was moving pretty fast to boot. No idea of who's photo it is.

How about this one of Ray Hannah in '434' in the early-mid 90s
Very nice![]()

I am cheating a little here as this aircraft was taking off, but his gear was retracted. The shot was taken with a Minolta X 500, 200 mm lens, on a very foggy morning.

There's another pic of what may be the same display earlier in the thread - you may fancy a serach for it, unless you posted it of course!

"We'll be in a field elsewhere, pottering quietly amid broken bits of Gloster Gladiator" (B's to Alton Towers)
That "some nutter" you are talking about was Maj. José Marette flying the F-84 solo display. In those days this was normal and allowed so watch your language please.Originally Posted by BIGVERN1966
