    Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods:
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Hi, Deino, Sorry I don't have any more info on the aircraft you mentioned but I have a suggestion regarding the line drawing you posted.
Because it is a line drawing (ie basically two colours and large areas of "nothing"... ie white space) it is actually better to save it as a .gif format image rather than .jpg.
.jpg is an excellent compression format but it is best used for images with lots (ie thousands or millions) of colours.
.gif on the other hand is very good for images with far fewer colours or line drawings or charts that don't contain images (ie 16 odd colours or so).
The reason I am suggesting this is because a lot of the detail has been lost in trying to make the jpg small enough to post.

That pic has already been posted here some time ago. ;-)
In the book F-15 Eagle by Dennis Jenkins (or something like that ), there are some pics of a mock up. I could scan them if you want.

I would appreciate you posting the images of the Rockwell design or any others that might be in the book.

This is a picture of the unsuccessful North American VF-X ( the F-14 was the later winner !) proposal (from WAFJ, No. 19, p. 124):

    Here you go:

The first pic shows various configurations by McAir. Left in the fourth row is a F-4, F-14 and F-22 like designs are also included.
Pic two is McAir also, the last one shows the North American design.

The quality isn't very good, my scanner software isn't working properly.
Of course the 2nd pic shows the NA design ;-)

"Thanks for Your suggestion but I found this line-drawing as a jpeg ! So I think i cant't make it better !"

Sorry, my mistake... I assumed the original might have been very large (being a jpg) and that you might have reduced the quality and or size of the image to post it here.
If the original was of good quality then saving it as a gif instead of a jpg would have greatly reduced the file size without greatly reducing the quality.

Actually, the intake arrangement seems strongly reminiscient of the Mikoyan MFI...

    Deino,
Its called "McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle" (Aerofax series)
by Dennis R. Jenkins. ISBN is 1857800818.
Beware, its a book for Eagle freaks. History, technical data, operators, some good pics. If you want to know the Eagles story, buy it ;-)
