Seen for the first time, an IAF Mirage-2000TI with a Popeye (reportedly Popeye II aka Crystal Haze) stand-off precision guided bunker busting munition.

It is also armed with MICA IR with a live seeker and a dummy booster on the portside outerwing station and another one with an inert seeker and active booster at the front portside fuselage station along with a LITENING 3 LDP on the front starboard side station and 2 RP-522 1300l supersonic drop tanks.

LCH inching closer to IOC- first LSP LCH by 2018

    ..

“The IOC is expected any time now and the first limited series production (LSP) copter should be coming out by 2018.” says Dr Kumar. He said the production drawings for LSP have been finalised.

Better speed and handling qualities now On the design changes undergone on variants so far, Dr Kumar said that the armament boom on the prototypes has been made more aerodynamic in shape to improve the speed and handling qualities of the helicopter.“We have also worked on the vibration levels. The door design has been optimised with lot of visual cues now,” says Dr Kumar.

He further said that the LCH has successfully demonstrated its rocket firing capabilities during IAF exercise Iron Fist in March 2016 at Jaisalmer and ground firing of Turret gun was completed in December 2016. “LCH is the first attack helicopter which landed at an altitude of 4.5 km in the Himalayas with considerable load of weapons and fuel,” says Dr Kumar.

Tejas to be flown by IAF Air Chief BS Dhanoa on first day of Aero India 2017

    ..

To prove the Tejas' stature, the Indian Air Force Chief, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa will fly the plane tomorrow. The Tejas was also part of the Republic Day fly-past this year, the first time the government cleared the flight of a single-engine fighter over Delhi's major Rajpath avenue in decades.

Test pilots at the National Flight Test Centre, which is working on increasing the operational capabilities expanding the flight envelope of the Tejas, have told NDTV that it is as easy to fly as the Mirage 2000, one of the frontline jets in service with the air force. Equipped with an Israeli air-to-air radar, the Tejas is now in the process of testing its ability to be refuelled mid-air, in the process doubling its operational range.

In December, the navy rejected the naval variant of the Tejas as being too heavy. That prompted the navy to issue a request last month for information on 57 foreign planes for its aircraft carriers. But NDTV has learnt that the navy is open to considering an updated version with a new engine that would make the Tejas capable of carrying a reasonable load of missiles and other weaponry while deployed on aircraft carriers.
Clearly, the N-LCA Mk2 is still on, as the ADA Chief had confirmed in the past as well.

India's new AEW&C EMB-145I 'Netra' being aggressively marketed for export- in-country trials in Indonesia soon

Indonesia could be the first foreign customer for the DRDO-Embraer AEW&C system, designated Netra, within the next year, if interest from Jakarta is anything to go by.

Livefist learns Indonesia, which first expressed interest in the system, has escalated its interest to a request for a systems demonstration, possibly in that country. The project has achieved initial operational clearance, with the first of two jets set to be handed over to its customer, the Indian Air Force, at the Aero India show — a terrific splash of an idea.

India’s DRDO has been ordered to aggressively and proactively pitch the new DRDO-Embraer AEW&C jet platform to foreign customers at Aero India 2017. With 52 countries at the show, the project team will hopefully have its hands full. Livefist can confirm the DRDO has received foreign interest (beyond preliminary enquiries) from Brazil itself, Israel and South Africa. “We have also received interest on just the sensor package developed by us for the platform, for fitment on other designated airborne platforms of countries in the interests of commonality or other compelling factors,” a member of the project told Livefist.

A multi billion-dollar Indian programme to co-develop a stealth fighter with Russia faces an uncertain fate with the government deciding to set up a committee to examine what the country gains from the project.

A top government source said the panel, to be headed by a three-star officer, would look into different aspects of the fifth-generation fighter aircraft (FGFA) project and the technology it brings into the country to meet the air force’s future requirements.

The two countries have been discussing the project for several years but are yet to sign a $4-billion research and development (R&D) contract for the FGFA. India has already spent Rs 1,500 crore on the preliminary design stage (PDS) of the FGFA project. The PDS was completed in June 2013 on the basis of a contract inked with Russia in December 2010.

6+ years after signing no tangible progress made? Sorry but the word 'fiasco' comes to my mind.

FGFA will be localized PAK-FA. PAK-FA has yet to be completed and serially produced- significant hurdles regarding the structure have been resolved and we are now waiting on the 2nd stage engines to take to the air.
It's not like India is currently spending money on the program to any significant degree.

Compared to the MMRCA and Tejas timelines, and produced capabilities I'd say it rates pretty low on the fiasco scale.

The location of the Lite Shield is also the location of the gun. Is it really on the cards to replace/augment the gun mount with another support system hard point?

yeah, that's a good point. Unless they delete the onboard cannon, that particular location won't work for the EW pod. Not sure why the wing tip is not explored as a possible mounting for EW pods.
