I went yesterday unfortunately the rain stopped any flying but the sun did come out just before I left so I thought I would put in a couple from inside.

No still sitting in Hangar 5 as of yesterday.

Forgot to mention even though it is not aviation the VC torpedo boat is leaving Hangar 3 as they were preparing it yesterday according to the guide there is a new aviation element going in there and some more changes due.

    Saturday 4th February.

A nice sunny Spring like afternoon today saw the immaculate based Dragon Rapide G-AGJG airborne for its first outing of the year

In the absence of reports from the regular scribes, just a note that G-ASJV was airborne on Tuesday.

That Rapide looks beautiful. Somehow the camouflage seems to enhance its lines to me rather than the plethora of civilian schemes around - just my opinion so don't hang me...

Yeah, I have to admit to quite liking the camouflaged version as well.

When in ww2 service the passengers had no view outside as the windows were covered for security reasons,so they missed the far to close view of a huge battleship near the Caithness coast when Capt Fresson broke cloud over what he thought was open sea...

    Thanks for the compliments, everyone.

Are there no rivet counters about this early in the year? The Rapide is in the Southern Division colours, whereas it operated for Fresson's Northern Division. We preferred the silver below the cheat line scheme on the nacelles.

There is a photo showing 3 Rapides lined up at Glasgow Renfrew in exactly that scheme so I cannot be miffed, anyway I am still happy that you chose that scheme and if you ever venture North i would be delighted to take air to airs over Inverness, we are based there.

When did the Spitfire arrive? Popped into NW for half an hour this afternoon, caught the JP going out but no sign of the Spitfire.

Doesn't sound good, any idea why they've all returned to their previous bases?
