I heard a Dak' over Bristol about 3pm today and by the time I'd cleared trees to get sight of it it was flying well away. However it looked more like the Catalina. Anyone know it's travels this afternoon please to confirm it or confuse me further?

The DX Catalina departed Duxford soon after 2pm today so I guess that was what you saw ?

Thanks Duxman, it was good to see even at moderate distance. Grandson's (Reception Class at Infants) sports day was made the better for the sighting!

Weekend camping with scouts near Brize Norton so plenty of Atlas and Voyager sightings plus the Mig flying straight over us, always good to see.

The pilot realised he had lost his nylon aircrew wristband for whatever show, and was concerned it might be somewhere in the aeroplane, and become a FOD hazard .

BBMF technicians were summoned , and drove down from Conningsby to help find it. Eventually they pronounced the Spitfire safe to fly.

    Yes, really......

Nothing historic, but a couple of F-15s came low over Betws-y-Coed yesterday, and a Chinook heading west over Llangollen at about 7:30pm.

An AN-2. A distinctive sound and it seemed to be flying well below the speeds of the usual GA types (perhaps an illusion based on its size).

I assume it's the locally based example that rarely flies, instead spending its time in a locked hangar.
There are two sides to every story. The truth is usually somewhere between the two.
