    The PBY above was owned by Dr. Forrest Bird, the inventor of the small Bird medical respirator. I believed it was outfitted with the equipment his firm made. He also had a Bell 212 outfitted as a EMS equipment demonstrator.

    He sold the PBY many years ago, but the 212 is now in a museum he founded along with other aircraft he owned. The doctor passed away a couple of years ago, well into his 90s.
    There are two sides to every story. The truth is usually somewhere between the two.
