    Kollsman altimeter Rref. 6A/9669

Would anybody happen to know on what types of aircraft a Kollsman Mk.28 altimeter would have been used? RAF Ref. Nr. 6A/9669.

One of my copies of AP1086 Sec 6A, this one dated 6th September 1966 to AL/181 has the Mk28 Altimeter as fitted to the P1127. I would hazard a guess that it was also fitted to the later Harrier aircraft as well.

This copy of AP1086 has the sec/ref for the altimeter as: 6A/10558, I would suspect the number you've quoted as being just a part of the Nato Stock Number NSN. A close up pic of the label would make it clearer.

    Hope that helps.

    Regards

It is certainly used on the Mk 2 Sea Vixen, illustrated parts list identifies as:
Altimeter, Flourescent, Mk28 Pt No 6A 9669 (plate ref 3B/39). I am pretty sure it was also fitted to the GR1/3 harrier too.

This gets better and better. I took it out of a glider. It was last calibrated in 2009 and is in full working order.

It is available for exchange/sale etc. since I do not have a jet cockpit to put it in. Could be changed for 4.00x4 tyre(s) e.g., or suitable altimeter.
