Very nice wheel AM. Restored a couple of these some years ago for a member of this forum...but still haven't managed to acquire one for my own collection!

In case anyone is interested, a very inexpensive Grumman Albatross wheel is available on US Ebay here:

It has a BIN price of $40! Looks to be just the wheel casting. No cap or switches.

    FB,

The Tiger Moth pole has appeared several times of late, I'm surprised that it hasn't sold given it's a reasonable price for such an iconic aeroplane? I have also posted reference to the Mk2 Spade grip on the 'e-bay' thread too. Probably Gannet with a 'Fighter' Selectric gun switch as opposed to the 'Stores Release' normally seen. However, with all things of this nature, it could be something really, really rare!!!

    GYD,
Thanks for the update on the Spade Grip. Yes the Tiger Moth column has been on sale for some time, I too am surprised as well that it hasn't sold.

For those of you who like Soviet cold war aircraft this is a rarely seen item on the market although a tad expensive. It's a Myasishchev M4 Altant control yoke:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/original-ATL...kAAOSwGhFZg83V

The existence and preservation of most Russian yokes is due to the fact that they were presented to military Pilots on retirement, quite often they were jazzed up commonly with a clock wedged into the yoke hub and bits and bobs dangling off the wheel like a Christmas tree. The removal of the clock, compass and lowering of the price would make this quite a nice acquisition to ones collection. I would be asking for further photos around the hub area to make sure it wasn't stressed or fractured through the insertion of the clock.

Another B-47 Stratojet yoke for sale:

Another, rarely seen (part) column and yoke. This one is from a Handley-Page Hermes. The lack of brake levers distinguishes it from a Hastings yoke. The column is also stamped with an Assembly No. commencing 81....

Total production was just 29 airframes of which 25 were the production version, Mk. IV. I assume this is from one of them.

Another B-47 Stratojet yoke for sale:

At the rare opportunity of obtaining one of these elusive yokes, I broke open my piggy-bank and put an offer in! Now on it's way!

That's a useful acquisition, GYD. Your US bomber collection is growing. I'm waiting for the customs bill for an F-18 colum. From etsy of all places. Thanks for the links, Flyby, some stuff I'd not seen. Lovely photos AM. I'm having problems posting, need to resize images.

Something old and something new, a couple of Soviet acquisitions from the Ilyushin stables. The first one has been on eBay for quite some time billed as a Li-2 but in fact is what I believe to be a Il-12, this being one of Ilyushin's first passenger airliners. The second one is a Il-86 one of the last airliners Ilyushin built the Il-96 superceeding this type.

A ridiculously expensive Il-86 yoke on eBay at the moment:

A video clip of an impressive IL-86 takeoff on a small runway (Tivat airfield), see last few seconds:

Congrats FB, on a couple of nice acquisitions. I tried to "deal" with the seller of the Li-2, but he wasn't willing to come down enough. That IL-86 wheel started out at $10,000us when the seller first listed on Ebay last year!
