Irak need large AWACS that look deep inside other countries and has full real time ground survellence capabilities. AWACS will save money in protecting ground radars from insurgents. And also advanced long range MLRS system with saturated bomblets.

Nice- would be great if Iraq bought laser-guided rocket rounds from Russia too. A couple more:

The Turkish Aerospace Industries T-129 with METEKSAN MILDAR FCR would be the ideal choice for Iraq but in light of the current Turkish-Iraqi relationship seems unlikely.

Arbalet is a FCR made by Fasotron NIIR of Ka-52. FCR for Mi-28N is N025 by GRPZ.

You are, of course, correct. Don't know how it could have escaped me that these two helos did not use identical radars..

    Sad sight

Given that most of the OP call for slightly below medium alt flight, Iraki personels should be allowed to wear parachutes. On of them could have bailed out here as the 407 despite being in fire seems to autorotate during enough time (composites burning).

As I read, the IA-407's are equipped with MAWS supposedly which also can dispense flares automatically when a missile is detected. The video starts late so we don't see the actual engagement to see if there were any flares dropped.

That flag is clearly red-white-blue. Without sun in the middle.

He's Dutch, no doubts on it.The chap is wearing a Dutch uniform, with a Dutch flag in its arm training with an American unit wich trains regularly with the JNTD (Joint Netherlands Training Detachment) wich is based in the US. On top of that the photo collection in where that image was taken features American and ... Dutch hardware.
