Saw a not very good pic on the news, it's a D reg 172/182 by the looks. Definitely German though.

I've edited the headline as the police have now decided it was 'nothing untoward'

Elsewhere it has been suggested that it was two metal containers secreted in the wings holding something like 100 litres of a highly volatile substance that could have been turned into an incendiary device of fearsome proportions - considering the site was doubtless "close to a primary school"

Two big metal containers in the wings?... Was it a Cessna, it could have been a old wing leveller system, it looks like a couple of dustbins in the wings.

Reading between the lines, could they have been 'fuel tanks'? :diablo:

Fuel tanks in the wings of an airplane? Never! Does anyone have a picture?
Hindsight is what you see from the tailgunner's position...
