If PK and team can't fix the old girl, nobody can. Hope to see her back in the air where she belongs soonest.

While PK is capable, so are many other equally experienced, capable and qualified organisations, so I`m not really offended![]()
Flying must be easy. If it was difficult, groundcrew would have to do it!
Any updates on repairs ?
Bournemouth air show this weekend. The Sea Vixen will be missed. Any new info on her return to flight?
Seems obvious we wont see it flying this year now. It doesn't appear to have a permit to fly either.![]()
The report into the incident has now been released.

Accidents happen. He wasn't the first and won't be the last to confuse the gear/flap switches when changing types in a short period.

Is she near flying again yet?
I was told a while ago that the repairs were carried out but there were problems with the CAA and the PtF wasn't renewed.
I'd guess it wont fly until next year now, assuming everything's been sorted out that is.
Just read that she should be flying again by next spring

About 10 years ago at Biggin Hill Airshow a Venom (as part of a 3 ship with the Vixen) landed wheels up. Does anyone know what happened to the aircraft as I haven't seen it since?

As AlanL points out, the Venom is now in an RAF scheme marked up as "WR470" and operated by Classic Air Force (Classic Flight, as was).
The Vampire crash was later that same day (02/06/01), and was caused by the wake turbulence from the SeaVix during a tailchase display. The next day (Sunday), the Kingcobra also crashed at Biggin, and on the Monday the PR.XI Spitfire crashed at Rouen.
An absolutely terrible few days.
Edited to add: I think the Vampire was ex-Swiss AF and not an ex-Vintage Pair aircraft.

Going slightly at a tangent but the Bigging Hill Vampire crash was the one Jim Kerr was killed in and was the ex Vintage pair reserve aircraft ,I was involved in getting it back into the air doing some work for them when it was at Sealand.Very sad four days with the loss of some very respected pilots and owners as well as friends.
No, the Vampire that crashed at Biggin was ex Swiss U-1234. The Vintage Pair reserve aircraft was XE920, which is airworthy in the USA.

I know we shouldn't believe everything we read, but i'm presuming that info came from someone connected to the aircraft!

The flying again in Spring (February) quote was from PK in the local paper a few weeks ago:
