I think the Retrotec Hawker Fury K5674 could be a good contender.

Seemingly it has been paperwork issues rather than engineering ones which have delayed the first flight, which would otherwise have taken place last year.

    ''K5674 G-CBZP Hawker Fury 1 c/n 41H-67550
Originally built as part of a batch of 20 against Contract No: 409396/35 by Hawker for RAF with K5674.
Initially delivered 20.11.35 to 2 Aircraft Storage Unit Cardington. Delivered 02.06.36 to 43 Sqdn
Tangmere. To 5 MU Kemble 06.02.39. To 47 MU Sealand 14.07.40. To South African AF 05.08.40. Guy
Black & team recovered it from a farm in South Africa. Regd 02.04.03 as G-CBZP to Historic Aircraft
Collection Ltd. Rebuild by Retrotec at St Leonards-on-Sea and moved out for final assembly and flight
testing by 04.11. CAA Exemption issued 19.05.11 to carry RAF serial K5674 expires 31.05.14.''

The Anson in NZ shouldn't be far off - was expected at shows this month, but no first flight so far.

Possibly MK IX spitfire RR232 & may be Spitfire RW382. What about Rick Roberts Hurricane being put together by Hawker Restorations?

The Collings A-36 is getting close, should be ready late this summer. It's gonna be a stunner.

Another one that will hopefully be flying before too long is Chris Prevost's Grumman F3F at Schellville, north of San Francisco. This is the one damaged by water at Lone Star in Texas in Hurricane Ike a few years back.

And there's also the magnificent Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter rebuilt by the Memorial Flight, now reassembled at La Ferte Alais.

There was some footage of one in his workshop in a programme called 'The Battle of Britain-The Real Story' couple of years ago-it looked fairly complete (to my untrained eyes, anyway!)

A friend's 1936 WACO EQC-6 Custom Cabin biplane will be flying by late summer. A beautiful ship that started its life at our local field as a charter aircraft before moving to Montana where it continued its working career as a bushplane through the 50s. It spent the next few decades as a much flown antique by an airline pilot but was in serious need of a rebuild when my friend acquired it in 2008. It just needs some sheet metal fairings and FWF panels but will be at the big Antique Aircraft Association's show this summer in Iowa.

In the same hangar, a Bucker Jungmann is coming along and should be flying within a year.
It's a postwar Czech C-104 airframe and was formerly owned by aerobatic pilot/racer Mira Slovak and author Ernest K. Gann.

Finally, another Stearman Kadet is almost ready for flight. This one is in USN colours and will bring our field's Stearman population to 14 or 15.

There are two sides to every story. The truth is usually somewhere between the two.
