Having just ventured into modelling again, this is the first time I have read this thread since I joined, as it hides itself away a bit. Blue 2 I am very imprerssed - where do you keep them all!!?? And I love that Miss D - one of my favourites on the display circuit.

I will post my own efforts once I feel that they will do some justice to the forum - at the monment they are deserving only of my dark cupboard or, in a couple of cases, the rubbish bin!!

Lots of shelves Charlie! Glad you like my builds. I've only got started again this last month, with being busy painting Lindy all summer I've not felt like attacking the stash around the modelling bench!

Get yours posted, they can't be worse than some of my efforts

Well, I'll see - you are far too modest!! I certainly hope to spend some time over the Christmas/New Year holiday at the "modelling table". So we'll see how we get on.....

I'm hoping to make inroads into the stash over the hols too. Got a Lightning T55 kit on its way which will become an RAF T5, and decals for the retirement scheme PR9 Canberra. So the new year's first builds will be retro Matchbox 1/72 offerings!
Unless I crack on with the Harrier GR3 'in works' this'll be the last one completed this year, a 'What If' F16 in 11Sqn RAF colours, and with a conventional fuel probe added as well as the American boom system in the spine.

It would appear I fibbed about the last build of the year! The Harrier's done

And my build of Shackleton WR963 is as far on as it is going to get until I get the serial and code letter decals made up for it...

Finally finished my Revell Lightning F.6, acquired some Xtradecal Lightning decals for another project and decided to change the 56 squadron scheme intended for this build for 74 instead!

Very tidy build, Blue? What's on the stocks for 2013? I am in the middle of making a right pig's ear of a Revell 1/48 B17 and I have got a Hunter 1/48, a Defiant 1/72, a Wyvern 1/48 and a Magister 1/32. So by the time I get to the Maggie I might just be ready to post a picture or two!!

Cheers Charlie Currently 'in the workshop' are the Lightning T5 conversion, a Hunter T7 almost completed for Benyboy of this forum, and a Trumpeter Gannet for my mrs. Unfortunately she wants it with wings folded, so I had to break out the razor saw...
Looking ahead, a part-built 1:24 Harrier has joined the stash, clearly started by a chimp so that'll be interesting. There's an AWACS to finish, a Tin Triangle, and the Navy pair of 1:48 Buccaneer and Sea Vixen to do. Plus Christ knows how much smaller stuff!

That lot and Lindy should keep you out of mischief for a while. My Wyvern is a Trumpeter - someone said they are good kits.

Very nice T.5; all that kitbashing was well worthwhile!

    ...clearly started by a chimp...
I have just acquired a couple of models that fit that description.
The restorations should be a hoot, as whoever painted them seems to have done so with a trowel. If they weren't so rare, they'd have either been binned, or used to create a crash diorama.

Just noticed this thread not sure how I missed it. Spent the last hour reading through it and looking at the wonderful collection of beautiful models! Many hours of dedication and skill you have put into them. The white Victor looks amazing!

Very impressed with your work and thank you for sharing pics of your collection.

I haven't built any models for years, but when I was in my teens I had a 1:72 Victor, which was my best model. Back then I wanted to build an airport and have a number of 1:72 scale models keeping everything to the same scale. We didn't have the space and even my dads shed wasn't large enough to build a 1:72 scale airport.

    Excellent collection

Thankyou AH, glad you like my work. It's nice to share with like-minded people on a forum such as this too. Keep visiting, as there's a lot more in the stash to build yet!

Cheers Don! I'm quite chuffed with it. I can't understand why there never was a mainstream kit of the T.5...

Great stuff, Blue! As my Oz chum would say - she's a beaut! Look forward to seeing more of the stash take shape in the weeks/months to come. Does model making accelerate as work on Lindy slows down during the Winter?

Not really Charlie, the work on Lindy never slows! The build rate varies depending how much model-building mojo I've got I guess. Recently I've got some back, but for much of last year I'd none. Must admit it's nice to be back on with builds though!

    They are a Gloster-Whittle E28/39, and a Bristol 138.
They are complete, which is good, as I don't hold out much hope in obtaining spares for them (I'm still looking for Fairey Delta decals to copy).

In the bag of (smashed) bits that came with them, there is also what appears to be the mortal remains of yet another Fairey Delta...

Sounds good, especially the Bristol! And if you don't want another Fairey Delta cluttering your shelf...!

A couple more builds from the bench. First an Airfix Buccaneer S.1 restoration.

New build Trumpeter Gannet. A bit of careful surgery was needed to fold the wings!

And another 'what-if' build, the FW200D

Works in progress, a Sea Hawk, 1/24 Harrier, Gladiator. The bench looks busy again!

Good work, Blue - I love the Gannet - your mojo must be working again!! I've got a Trumpeter Wyvern on the stocks which will probably have to wait until Winter comes round again...if it has ever left!!

Brought an old-release Airfix Gladiator back from Malta with me. It's not come out too bad...
