More restorations, which should look familiar to Don (Critter592)!
F-102. Before;
And after, as a QF-102. Used spare F-86 decals as they were all I had
F-104. Before;
And after. Just waiting for some more decals to appear.
And Gannet AEW
This had been built many years ago as an AEW, but all the chap had done to convert from the standard Frog Gannet was remove the extra cockpits, square the tail off a bit, add a balsa radome and tanks, and some very large exhausts.
To make it look a bit closer I chopped most of the belly out and rebuilt it, had another go at the tail, re-profiled the upper fuselage, made some longer u/c legs, and cut the exhausts down. It's not perfect but I'm quite happy with it.
One of the current works in progress, may look familiar to some members of this parish...

Superb restorations, Blue_2.
Great to see the "Before" and "After" comparisons, and wonderful to know that these models have a new lease of life!
Look forward to seeing some more!
Don
Thought you'd approve Don! Luftwaffe Starfighter and B-29 should be next resto's up.![]()

Nice Shack MR.2 conversion, did it use the Aeroclub conversion kit?
Nope, it's done from scratch using the services of the razor saw, plastic card, filler and bits out of the spares box! There's even the oxygen bottles in the nose. Which may be taking it a touch to far![]()

I'm liking that Shackleton quite a bit.
I have the current re-issue of the Frog MR3 (now by a company called "Chematic") waiting to be made into an MR2 in a very similar kind of paint scheme.
The Shack's an old Frog MR3 kit. I love the irony of building a model of a British Cold War maritime patrol aircraft, yet there's 'Made in the USSR' stamped all over the sprues!
Latest restoration, a Luftwaffe F-104. Finally got one, and I didn't have to buy a plot of land and wait...

Ayup! Not updated on here for a bit. Got a couple of kits knocked out though.
B-29 before
And after
Matchbox Jaguar
And a pair of Meatboxes. Both started as Airfix Meteor III's, but a new life as an 8 beckoned for one...
As Spitfire Pilot has snuck a train theme into the model thread I may as well add a couple of my model railway related bits and pieces too. Scrap 9F, built from an old Airfix kit
Restored Tri-ang Hornby Coronation class. This came to me with one side of the body smashed, the rods all knackered and the wheels missing from the front pony. A lot of work later and its a lovely little runner.
Restored Black 5. Came to me brush painted with green paint, and no tender. Now back in BR black with a tender built up from bits and pieces.
And my aircraft boneyard
Finally, nearly forgot 1:144 VC-10 restoration
That's it for now, I'll remember to update this thread in about another 6 months probably!![]()

Last 109 I was involved in building was a 1:72 Air Training Corps Competition. Told the cadets to sit down and put newspaper on the tables while I got some supplies from the other room, was gone for five seconds and came back to find pieces everywhere, the canopy nowhere to be seen and paint on every surface but the newspaper.....I wanted to cry
Some stunning models hereSome really nice models here

I absolutely do. It's always nice to see others work, particularly as they often give me the inspiration to try something I'd not have thought of. Tempted to repaint and weather my dambusters LancasterNeed to find my decals first though
Must confess, I'd love to build an R/C version. We had one on display at the model shop where I worked. Either that or a Sikorsky S-39![]()
One of those kits I've never built, a Dambusters Lanc. Perhaps I ought one day...![]()

I'm a huge Lancaster fan. Not as much as the Spitfire of course but a huge fan nonethelessThere was a chap who came into the model shop one day who builds scaled down versions of real engines. I'm told he once took out part of his neighbours house with a scaled down V2 Rocket
I've wondered ever since what a 1:4 Scale Spitfire would be like with a scaled down Merlin III powering it
I've never found out who the chap was but wish I had![]()

I've not been building much recently...
Apart from this cobbled together 'fire dump' Avro Lincoln. Made from the remains of 1xAirfix Lanc, 1xRevell Lanc, and 1xFrog Shackleton...

Over winter I should start making inroads into the stash I hope!

We've dried out a bit since the Cat picture above! Been at the workbench again, seeing as this is the Spitfire addicts' forum I decided to knock one together myself. I had a 1/32 Seafire kit sans decals, so I decided to make it as a desert Spit LF.VB. And Voila, before you can say 'Burma' it was built!
I've also done a Heller 109F, it came without decals too so I raided the spares drawer for some. A well used Russian Front example was the end result.
