Looks nice mate. Crying out for a motor though
The 21st Century kits are cheap but very, very good for the money.
I`m going to make a start on the Stuka while I try to find the Corsair.

Some of you might have seen the '109 work in progress photo I put in the 'And now for something completely different' thread...
Well it's now finished! Apparently it's a really cheap kit, I wouldn't know as mine was a freebiebut it is a really simple, nice build and mine's turned out quite nicely. I like it anyway...
The first plastic kit I've done that involves Philips screws![]()

Cheers Ben. It'd be easy to motor it if you were into that sort of thing. Let me know how you get on with the Stuka, I may also get one.

I might get one for the Stuka, only a couple of quid in ModelZone.
The kit looks good, I will probably make a start tomorrow.
I need a break from the AWACS, I`m getting pretty fed up of it now.
Not something I really do to be honest, motorizing. But I can appreciate it'd work well on such as the Stuka.
Bet you're bored of the AWACS, took me a couple of goes to motivate to finish the B-36 and the KC135!
Just waiting for my next project to land now...!![]()

Blue, would you post a photo of the B36 please? What scale is the 109?

Superb work, Sir.
I have seen a number of these completed on various Forums, and for a cheap kit, they build into a very nice model.
I have four of them, which I purchased from "Home Bargains".
I'm currently working on my Ju.87; however, I saw it mentioned on one Forum that the "dodgy" plastic that they are moulded in cannot be joined using ordinary tube or liquid poly.
May I ask - What did you use on yours?
Thankyou critter592.
As you know, the fuselage and wings screw together, but mine I glued too, belt and braces and all that. Everything on mine was glued with the standard Humbrol Poly I use with absolutely no problems. Unless the Stuka's made from a different plastic you've nothing to worry about
Sky High, just for you, the 1:72 B-36:
Not my best build, it's a few years old now. But Benyboy's seen that model 'in the plastic' and can vouch for the sheer size of it!

Wow, Blue - I am deeply envious! That is a beaut.
I made a 1/144 decades ago as a youngster and have always rather hankered after one again. It is one of my iconic aircraft. Many thanks for posting.

Thanks SH. This should give you a better idea of the size of the beastie:
When it dwarfs a 135, a KC97 and a Halifax you know it's hefty!

You sure do. And I spy another of my icons - the Strat.Thanks.
Now I am suffering from the effects of long term "downsizing" and have nowhere for anything.

Sadly I don't have any pics of the Strat to hand. They do take some space up- sadly if/when I have to downsize I suspect they'll be among the first for the chop![]()

Does your collection go back to boyhood modelling or only in more recent years?

I did wonder what he was asking when he said " do want to come see my big one"
I have all those kits, if you are looking for them
Critter - Not anothe person rubbing it in about Home Bargins, I missed them
Does your Stuka by any chance have two port horizontal stabilisers, mine has two starboard

yep Home Bargains had the 109 for £1-99 along with the Stuka and several others............. I got 10 plus of each, they were bankrupt stock and reduced from £12 odd quid!!!
myself and the Britmodeller forum, we probably cleaned out the country then did swapsies or sold the odd ones to those that couldn't get them and posted to each other around the country, were about a fiver inc postage, yup notts area to derbyprices on evilbay are rising, but might let you have the odd one depending on stock levels lol, what are u after? will have to look in the stash..
Emptying the shelves on each visit and carrying 16 kits to the till all the same and getting looks off the till girl until telling her they sell for 5 times the price on ebay.... at which point she smiled.just over £31 for 16 1/32 kits.... Bargain!
Incidentally so good is the 109 one won the top prize in its category at the USA IPMS show beating the likes of kits costing £70 odd plus.......... The decals are worth the price alone and the figure is about one of the best

Tony, I have a feeling I know your `partner in crime` on the Home Bargins raids.
Will send you a pm, to keep it on track here.
Aye, thoughts turning to them there females, motors and thingsBut still time for the odd decent build. Usually too busy with a full size aircraft to build much nowadays! But when my next project turns up (hint, hint) I may do a work in progress thread on here...
...And it's probably best not to feel it SH, you may get arrested
I have the A6M from this range too, I was given it the same time as the 109. Sadly it's missing quite a few bits so I'll probably build it as a 'found in the jungle' diorama...
