RAF Bomber Command Memorial Fund Wristbands.

Raising funds for the RAF Bomber Command Memorial in London Green park

Hello I'd like to mention that Barrie (ex army Air Corps Beaver Sgt Pilot ) and I (ex RAF) have been working on a project since October last year to raise funds for the RAF Bomber Command Memorial Fund. We have had wristbands made (see photo) and are offering one free to anyone who donates 2 pounds or more to our project (2 Euros or more if you live in a Euro zone). Our first public action was with a stall at the Robin Gibb concert in Amsterdam. It was a great success.
See also the link to MoD Oracle it has a lot more infomation about the cause.

    http://www.modoracle.com/forum/forum....asp?TID=13838

For anyone who is interested we have a Gmail account at a webmail site for them to get further info from us and give us their details for posting.
    Our Gmail address is:bombercommandnl @ gmail.com
(take the spaces out to use).

It is time to have a memorial to the 55.573 young men who died to keep our freedom. Average age 22, some as young as 17. Our wristbands will help spread the word to support the fund. mail us if you would like one ?

Below is how the wristbands look.

This was at a Concert of Robin Gibb the first place that we gave them away for a donation

Excellent idea and may I add that a memorial to Bomber Command should have happened a long time ago!

Peter you are correct its 65 years to late

And now it will finally happen, this is thanks to Robin Gibb
and the people that have made a donation for a wristband.

What we forgot to tell you is the red area on the wristbands will only be on for 55,573 of them

One for each life that did not return after that they will be light blue.

Also the red area looks like its just stuck on to the band its not.
Its lazer printed on to the band, it will fade in time but you can still see it.

    *Bump*

I can personally vouch for ranroz's sincerity and commitment to this worthy cause.

If you or your organisation would like to help raise some money by donating money for one of these wristbands or by stocking them, I am sure ranroz will only be too pleased to hear from you

At the moment we do not have a direct link to make a donation for a wristbands.
RAF Bomber Command will not do it till we can prove that they make money and they are.
We also do not have a pay pal account it will come later.
I have been planing this since April/May of this year and has taken till October to get to ware we are now. We have had NO help from RAF Bomber Command or the PR company that works for them.
They payed for the first 1,000 and the rest have top pay for them selves and they are. We have just placed a order for our second thousand from money raised in Holland, and we have enough for the third when needed.
All money raised in the UK will stay in the UK to avoid exchange rates we will ony trasfer what is needed

Barrie and I have done it from scratch.
I thought of the wristbands and how they should look and that they should have a meaning also.

Keep us posted on when a site is available to purchase, in the meantime have you approached any UK museums National or private to act as sales outlets?

In October I made a video for you tube to help with the advertising, only I used the old wristbands that did not meet the requirements good enough to be given away for a Donation.

Now we have a new company as you have seen.

This Video is dedicated to the 55,573 RAF Bomber Command Crewmen.

    Who gave Every thing.

I am going to buy one in the memory of my nana who passed away on Monday. She used to work at Avro Chadderton from 1943 to 1944 on the wing spar/ central wing box area of the Lancaster. About time there was a memorial to bomber command.

Barrie and I would like to thank The Aviation Forum for allowing us to promote the wristbands on here.
We have had orders via the email and also offers of a outlet.

You also have a thank you from an RAF Bomber Command veteran, a Lancaster wireless operator 101 Squadron RAF, who was shot down twice, escaped back to the UK and the second time ended up in Stalag Luft III, doing the Long March.

I met him via this article in the Horncastle News, he has raised 60 pounds with 30 wristbands I sent him, and will be offering even more in the Spring

    http://www.horncastlenews.co.uk/news...rial_1_1473679

I have added to MoD Oracle, Police Oracle and British Forces Chat Forums that you have been so kind as to allow us to promote them, including a link back to your forum.

We would like to say thank you to the Battle of Britain Memorial flight.
For adding the wristbands to their site to help raise funds for the Bomber Command Memorial.

During the weekend we have had people giving donations for them, one even placed a order for 30 for a Squadron reunion in May.

We have just wrote our first check out to the RAF Bomber Command for 200 Pounds. Raised from the donations for the wristbands.

This is a great achievement in three months, we started this on the 22 October 2010.
And we have funding over for new wristbands .

And shortly we will have a new outlet in Lincolnshire that have kindly offered to offer them in their establishment.

I received my two wristbands in the post yesterday - they really are very, very good, high quality and look fantastic and look fashionable too. If you're not sure whether to buy one or not, just get one, a great cause

We just received our new stock of wristbands today from the factory, we have to get them a thousand at a time at the moment. We do it like this till we can build up enough funds to be able to place a larger order.

As you know we was only funded for the first thousand, after that they have to fund them selves and also raise funds for the Memorial.

So the person that asked for some wristbands to offer them for us, will be pleased to hear that they should be with you as soon as we can.

We will send a mail when they are in the post to you.

This after noon I received this email from Charlotte at Visit Lincolnshire.

We would like to thank Charlotte and all the people that have have done this
    for us.
More so to Charlotte because from March she will have to find other employment due to lack of funding.

I wish her all the best in what ever the future holds.

    Afternoon Charles,
Just a short email to let you know we have highlighted the wrist band sales on the official aviation website for Lincolnshire. We have also written a blog entry and have placed a news article on the website.
I thought you would like to know for your evaluation.

Lovely. I must return to that quite frequently until our airshow season starts. The Lancaster always sounds different to four Merlin powered fighters flying together and the sound always makes me shudder though I have no idea why.
The mind once expanded by a new idea never returns to its original size.
