Also my opinion, One Thread Only. Easier to follow.
Good Work!

"Keeping Britain's Heritage Flying!"
In many ways I would prefer a separate thread on each project, as it would be easier to follow that project, and the search function would work better.
However, when the project is done, the thread would inevitably retreat into the depths of pages past, and be harder to find with a casual search (and more subject to deletion if Key gets tired of paying for ever more storage capacity).
Therefore, it seems better to keep one thread.
If anybody ever tells you anything about an aeroplane which is so bloody complicated you can't understand it, take it from me: It's all balls. RJM.
Most of the PR19s have had or are having the facility removed, they have never carried fuel for decades and the PRC sealant or rubber seals behind the fasteners had dried out and perished because of that, resulting in the fasteners becoming loose, so most are omitting the tank, although externally it will appear the same.......If thats so I do wonder about the PR tanks, these appear to be a vast metal void in the whole of the wing leading edge! I believe there are simple baffels internally but they are certainly not foam filled. Hence the aircraft is not cleared for any aerobatics with fuel in the PR tanks, indeed they are refered to as ferry flight or transit tanks.
19's metal fuselage tank for reference

Having just watched the youtube footage on another thread of the T9, I continue to be seriously impressed by what the team at Meirs Motors GMBH are accomplishing.
The P51's were exceptional, the Spitfires great, but the FW 190 was so completely and mindblowingly awesome.
love your work guys. So, is the 109 next?

I know everyones been going on about a certain Spitfire at Duxford lately (and quite rightly so - it's superb), but that Moth is absolutely gorgeous !
Loose-Head
Heed doon, Airse up at the front o' a scrum !
Great update, thanks!
Sorry to strike a grumpy note, but that the paint job on that Tiger is, what's the word now... horrible.
I know G-ANMV of old, when it was based at Booker with Tigerfly, and it used to look very authentic, in correct colours. This new paint scheme seems very odd, and the colours in the roundel are more like those seen in WW1.
It was a sad day when she crunched, whilst in the hands of Mark Walden ( not his fault ) The engine stopped in a stall turn just north of Henley on Thames, and the subsequent arrival in a field was rather on the firm side.
On reflection, the colours look quite different in the various photos ( in hangar, outside) , so perhaps the digital colour balance is making it look worse than it is.
As you might know, this running project belongs to Jerry Yagens Fighter Factory Virginia. The task is to restore the airframe and convert it with a Daimler Benz DB605 to a "Gustav". Of course German registration and all those things.... lot of work, but a stunning project
I first "met" the fuselage in 2007 at the old shop in Freiburg, but now the project was started by Jerry Yagen

not so funny ..... clean the wings and wash all the colors off. Hard work, sometimes with a toothpick
good to see the Spanish wingstructure with two spars
gunport ... this was/is the gunmount for the Hispano 20mm cannon, one reason for the two-spar-wingstructure
looks like a ship, not like a fighter

... the left wing in its "original" shape, will say in color
one of the typical spanish features. The 20mm Hispano mount. The aileron pushrod "goes around" the cannon. Tricky construction

something special.... teeth to bite those Hurricans and Spitfires
just kidding .... these teeth are for adjusting the wheel alignment
after adjusting the wheel alignment, both parts are screwed together with that "ring" in the middle. The ring is tapped clockwise on one side and counterclockwise on the other. In my opinion a simple but perfect solution ... typical German craftmanship

Great to see that Tiggie again.

Sitting on a cornflake, waiting for the van to come.
Superb photography as always Matthias. It really is a guided tour in excellent detail. Thank you!

Great photos of the main landing gear disassembled. Interesting engineering solutions. Thanks again for sharing Matthias!![]()
some october updates
The "project corner" . In the foreground the TF-51 project, followed by the Spitfire T9 project. On the right side the Corsair. She´s getting some electrical "updates". Beside the Corsair you ca see Rob Lamploughs magnificent P-51 "Miss Helen". There is some work concerning the avionics.
TF-51 project .... what a beauty
At the shop there are sometimes other birds than warbirds. Here a Piper Archer II. The plane got a big maintenance, complete new finish and of course a new interior. In the background Miss Helen and the Corsair
