My Grandfather was a Squadron Leader (906 Sqdn) and then Acting Wing Commander with Group Captain Leonard Cheshire at RAF Marston Moor. My Father used to fly gliders and light aircraft. From a personal point of view, I learnt to fly gliders in the later 70's and served a three year apprenticeship at Chiltern Sailplanes Ltd at Booker from 1980. I've had several aircraft airframes which never flew! These included two Provosts,(XF898 and WW388) and Proctor (G-AHTE) a Piel Emeraude (G-BLHL), an RF5 (G-BDOZ) and ex RAF Slingsby Cadet Glider and then a T61A Motor Falke.
Helping the poor to gain dignity, training and hope. Aviation, farming and engineering/design. I am also actively involved with a local Church. All good fun and very rewarding.
