Alex - I have been searching the web for information on one of the Tsetse Mosquitoes credited with shooting down a Ju 88 on 10 Mar 44. Everywhere I look your name pops up. Do you have any info on color/markings for NT225/E1 or MM425/L on the date mentioned above? TIA Jonathan Strickland wally7506@yahoo.com
Alex, Could you direct me as to where to find photos of the Bulldog cockpit? Have not received a response from BAE. Thanks. Ed
Hello Alex, i already posted this question on the forum, but then i came across your profile and thought you might be just the right person to bother with my Gladiator camouflage dilemma! I´ve just copy-pasted the lot: I´m a Dutch modeller building the Matchbox Gladiator as an anonymous MKI in Egypt, pictured on p. 24 of the Squadron Signal book (no scan, but see also attachment). This is described as being camouflaged in Light Earth and Dark Green over Aluminium, as indeed it appears to be - except that the Dark Green seems to be "edged" in a third color, something between LE and DG. You can make out a similar pattern (but more neatly applied) on the 33 squadron machine pictured in the link. http://website.lineone.net/~remosliema/gladiator.jpg So what´s going on here? Might there perhaps be a coat of Dark Earth or Light Green underneath the DG which was not entirely overpainted on purpose? Have i come across an "experimental" pre-war RAF color scheme, or is this one of those monochrome optical illusions? I´m curious to hear some suggestions! Cheers, Jasper.
Dear Alex, As you are the worlds premier expert on Bulldogs, I need some help. I am researching the lower panel between the leading edge and firewall. The Skysport model has a one piece sheet that runs from lower longeron to opposite longeron. The Parts manual shows the same part. I have a dwg and mod that shows this panel in three parts. The bottom is flat with a short 3/4" flange just after the bend up. Then a piece that fits up to the longeron. Here is the difficult part: There is a hole in the center of the part line (on each side) that is half and half between the two panels and equi distant front to back. Any idea what it was for? I would like to use this panel to show a different version of the Bulldog. Any comments ideas???? Thanks Ed Storo
