    Hello Grounded,
Please view the private message I've previously sent to "Mop". Can you offer any help here, I've tried to contact chap named Steve Morris, who has done some work for the 92 Sqd website but his contact e mail address doesn't work.
    Hello Mop,
I've only recently joined this site and seen your message.
A few months ago, as a civilian, I worked on base at Coningsby for a year. Whilst there I met some remarkable people, RAF past and present, with some real stories to tell.
One lunchtime I was enjoying the sun and strolling down a lane near the BBMF Hangar, I saw the well maintained Station graveyard and decided to enter and read some of the headstones.
It was then I saw the headstone to your late uncle, which intrigued me. A Sqd Leader, distinctive name, the right age to have fought through WW2, died and buried at Coningsby.
What was his story, how did he die, why is he buried at Coningsby etc? Just some of the many questions I had... I began to Google for the facts that evening after work.
I found out quite a bit.
A fighter pilot during the war, shot down over France and captured.
Escaped, evaded and returned home to fly and fight again..a hell of a feat in itself!
After the war, boss of 92 Squadron based at Linton on Ouse, leader and developer of the Squadron Aerobatic Team. On secondment to Coningsby, practicing for an air show, crashed and died.
I have found a few snippets of info regarding him, all saying pretty much the same, highly skilled and well liked.
I would like to find out a lot more about the man, where was he from, did he have a family, why was Coningsby chosen as his burial place, what was his war time career like..successes, etc?
During my research I acquired newspaper articles of the day re the inquest details, these are hard copy photocopies that I can't e mail but will gladly post to you; a couple of the details make for unpleasant reading though.
Hopefully we can assist one another. Any one else out there know anything about Sqd Ldr Jack Jagger? Did you work with him? "Grounded" can you help? Here's hoping.

Grounded, any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks in anticipation.

In March 2005 you posted a note concerning a meteor prang in 1952 - Sqdr Ldr Jack Jagger was my uncle (although I never knew him). I'm putting together some family history I wondered if you had any stories about him as your note suggested you might and I would be very interested if you did.
    Thanks in anticipation.

HI regarding the pics you sent in showing a vampire J5T-VF/279 -this aircraft was on my sqdn in Gutersloh Germany in 1948--I have a picture of it in the air with two more vampires , J5T-VF/279 is being flown by our sqdn leader Colin Mcfie DFC . The other vampires are J5D-VF/282 and J5M-TG/385 JIM
