Belay that last order! Yes, I found your message :-)
Details of my dads service are sketchy and unfortunately he is no longer around to ask (one of the biggest regrets no talking to him about his service but, like many, he never mentioned it).
However I believe he served 1944-45 (possibly earlier). He was a boy sailor, probably about 14 when he joined up (we think). He was definitely in Malta 1944-45 as I have a picture.
He was a GRUE operator which has something to do with Gunnery and Rangefinding and possibly onboard HMS Anson during the Japanese surrender.
His name was Edward george Munns. Did or do you know him?
After the war he worked for G.C.griston Meat Haulauge, Consort Road, Peckham.
Would be interested in any info you may have.

Ref HMS Anson. i readone of your posts yesterday but only quickly as i was off out to work. i think you mentioned HMS Anson within the thread. A close mates misses uncle served on that Ship also. i gave him a quick call yesterday just to double check it was the same ship.. just out of interest When did your father? serve on board
