I am perhaps one of the few remaining people who flew in Beaufighters, Target Towing Mark 10's. In the Mark 10, the blister housed the target towing operator who was paid 6d (2.5p) extra per day flying pay. A comment is raised about the mosquito, the pilot and navigator sat side by side with the pilot about 18 inches higher than the Navigator. Think on this: In the early models, in the event of a bale out, there was a door on the navigator's side about 24" square, this was jettisoned and then the navigator exited between the leading edge and the propellor, the pilot then had to find his own way out. later models had a jettison canopy. End. Mark 10
