  1. Hi Jay,
    Sorry for the delay replying.
Ken Wynn has handed over production of the new edition to the Battle of Britain Fighter Association. Each page is currently being proof read as I write this.
I suspect that it will not be available in the shops until the summer of 2012.
There are significant changes to the new edition and a few airmen taken out and a few new ones added. I know that the Association have agreed to include those airmen of 263 Squadron that almost certainly participated but due to the lack of detail in their ORB we have been unable to wholly prove they participated. An example of this would be Herbert Kitchener who was based with B Flight of 263 Squadron which flew operationally with hurricane 1's. I have spoken to his family and they are wholly certain that he flew operationally in 1940 and have photos of him with 263 squadrons hurricanes, however, he was shot down in March 41 and his log book was lost whilst he spent several months in hospital recuperating.
I hope that this is of use to you.
    Best wishes
    Gerry

Re: Men of the Battle of Britain

    Hello there,

Could you be so kind as to tell me more on this re-edition?

    Cheers!

  3. Hi Brian,
I have no record of 601 being stationed at Castletown at any stage in the war.
There is a website dedicated to 601 squadron and run by a group of American enthusiasts.
There are some great photographs on the site and you should be able to see some relating to the period that you are interested in. I would suggest that the pics in O'neills and Elkingtons images may reveal some airmen from the dates that you are interested in.
Sorry that I have been unable to oblige you any more.
    All the best
    Ged

    Hello Ged,

I would like to know if you know of 601 squadron being stationed at RAF Castletown towards the end of 1942,If indeed this is true,do you know where I could find any pictures so I can compare some of the faces in these pictures that I have.

    Thanks

    Brian
