The Australian government has announced selection of the General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc (GA-ASI) MQ-9B SkyGuardian to provide the next-generation unmanned combat air vehicle (UCAV) for the Australian Defence Forces (ADF) under Project Air 7003.
The main flying displays the organisers say will be on Saturday and Sunday. The event website also says: "Join us again for our fantastic classic air display in the stunning grounds of the Ragley Hall Estate. There will be a wide array displays including Warbirds, Classic Jets, Helicopters, amazing high energy aerobatics, aerial ballet, flying circus and some of the largest radio controlled models in the world, that are so big you can almost climb into them!
"There will also be parachute display teams plus the chance to get up close and personal to some of our display aircraft which will be landing on site on our own dedicated runway! Our flying display will be an exciting and entertaining mix, with even a small section dedicated to our younger visitors."
The event website states it will provide "static displays, and daytime shows that feature military demonstration teams, civilian aerobatic teams, aerial solo acts, vintage aircraft and warbirds."
The airshow website says: "This year’s theme is ‘Take Flight.’ Kickstart your interest in a career in the RAF, and develop an understanding of what the Service does for the defence of the United Kingdom. Get close to the cutting edge of technology with RAF aircraft & unique attractions across the showground, and immerse yourself in a thrilling, action-packed flying display programme. The RAF Cosford Air Show is the only remaining RAF-organised Air Show. It is a great opportunity to learn more about the RAF as well as an exciting summer day out for the whole family."
